It's a God thing...

So, we're moving to Chattanooga! ;) Here's the dirty details (as much as I can condense them into a reasonable story)...

About a month ago, mine and Josh's daily devotion challenged each of us to pray for our spouse about 3 very specific things. For each of us, one of those things was our jobs...neither one of us is really happy where we are...we both love what we do, but the exact situations we're in are not a great fit. So, we've been praying that God would open a door in response to that. Roughly around the same time, I was perusing the internet looking for jobs in this area when I came across Intelligent Therapy Staffing. On their home page is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Seeing that this was a faith based company made me want to know more. So I contacted them and got some information on their company, but I just didn't feel like the time was right to make a move. So, I waited.

Fast forward to last weekend. Josh was in DC with work, when the VP of Sales from Rarity Club in Chattanooga approached him about making a move from his current position at Rarity Pointe down to Rarity Club. This was a guy that Josh had worked with for several months at Rarity Pointe before he was made VP down in Chattanooga, so Josh was really excited. When they worked together in the past, there was really great team chemistry, and when Todd left for Chattanooga, that's when things started really going downhill for Josh at the Pointe. So, when he came home last Sunday (Sept. 16), we talked about it at length and decided that he would talk to one of his company's co-owners later in the week, then we would make a decision. We were thinking maybe this was God's way of opening the door for him. When he met with Fred, it was all systems go, and the door was basically busted wide open for the move. (This was on Thursday morning)

So, Josh calls me to tell me, and I was so excited! Not 30 minutes later, I got a call from Intelligent Therapy Staffing asking if I was still interested in their company. I said that I was, but that we were probably moving to Chattanooga, so I wasn't sure it was going to work out. She informed me that was not a problem because they also have locations in Chattanooga. I don't know about you, but that's a little too coincidental to me to NOT be a God thing. (For the record, I don't officially have a job with them yet, but I'm really hoping it will work out! I'm really impressed with their company and the way they do business. If you're in TN and ever looking to change jobs all you PTs, OTs, and SLPs, you should check them out!)

So, this weekend has been more prayers and more God things, and the whole situation has worked out even better than we ever could have planned it ourselves. We're going to Chattanooga on Oct. 3 to look for houses, and we hope to be down there full time by the first of November. Josh will be commuting from Knoxville until then (starting tomorrow!) We're going to try to rent our house here (because we're too sentimental to let it go!), so if you know anybody who wants it, let us know! ;)

I'll keep you posted as soon as I know about these things myself. Keep us in your prayers, and pray that we would make good decisions and that God will protect us throughout this whole crazy process! We're excited about it though!

Congratulations! I'm sad you won't be as accessible, but then again how am I going to complain when I don't even live in this country! You know I'll come visit because I'll miss you. Hopefully you'll be making mucho dinero and plan vacations to come see me wherever I land as well! I'm happy as long as you guys are happy, and it sounds like this is a perfect fit. X
