Greedy

Why, can I ask, are people so greedy?! Admittedly, the housing market is a "buyer's market," but that hardly helps me when most of the homes on this flooded market are either crappy or WAY overpriced (in Chattanooga anyway). We've made a few offers on overpriced homes (okay, 2 offers) but the sellers refuse to reduce the price more than a few thousand dollars! It doesn't matter that we point out that the houses around them (comparables) are not selling for near what they're asking (i.e. $20-30k less!), they refuse to budge on their price. My response? "It's not my fault you overpaid when the market was booming. Let your house sit on the market a few more months, and call us when you decide you really want to sell it!" Is that rude? (for the record, both of those homes are still on the market...one for 15 months, and the other for 8 months...I guess these people are made of money...I sure as heck wouldn't want to be making 2 mortgage payments!) I'm just trying to be patient and know that when "the house" comes along, the good Lord will make sure all doors are opened wide. (I just really hope it's sooner rather than later!) Okay, that's my soap box for the day...

Leslie,

I totally understand your frustration. Ive been looking around North Chattanooga and its very frustrating because homes are way overpriced for what you get. It may be that those people have to sell that house at 60K more just to get out from underneath it, i.e. they may have used all their equity for cars, vacations, etc. Either way it is still being greedy and irresponsible.

Well just have faith, God will lead you to where you should be!

God Bless,

Kent
