House hunting and cockroaches

Well, Josh is going tomorrow to look for houses again. I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up, but to be quite honest, I'm desperate. I have never...NEVER! lived in a place that has cockroaches over 1/2 inch long. I've seen at least 3 in this apartment that are bigger than 2 inches long. The first time I saw one on my kitchen floor, I improved my vertical by about 20 inches. I swear I would have jumped through the ceiling to make it disappear. I call the bugman every other week to come spray our apartment now. He probably thinks I'm crazy, but I'm okay with that. For the record, the last one I saw (which was last Tuesday when Josh wasn't home), I killed all by myself. I thought you'd be proud. (and by 'you,' I refer to anyone who might be reading this blog...I mean, I love the great outdoors, but I could do without the creepy-crawlies.) I did smoosh it all over the floor, and I made sure it was in 1000 different pieces because I've heard they can survive for 9 days without a head. Even though I smooshed his head off, I didn't want his legs to walk him into all the goodies in my pantry. I sprayed his million parts with Lysol so he didn't infect my house. ;) I did not, however, clean his guts up off the floor. I delegated that to Josh when he got home. (Oh, and I left his shoe sitting on top of the smooshed parts so they couldn't get up and walk away on their own...hey! you never know!) So, suffice it to say that I'm super ready for a home of my own...preferably without the creepy-crawlies.
