Bar Harbor, Maine -- Day 2

Day 2 (June 12) it was rainy, so we decided to make the drive to Freeport to the first ever LL Bean store...it takes up almost 3 city blocks! (And it's open 24/7...what more could a girl want?) Everything you've ever seen in their catalogs is in this store. It was amazing! I heart LL Bean!

We drove down US 1 along the coast to Freeport...it was a gorgeous drive...even in the rain! The scenery was nice, and we LOVED seeing all the massive houses on the ocean. I don't remember exactly where this bridge is, but it was somewhere along our drive on US 1. It completely freaked me out. You can't really tell from this pic, but it's a suspension bridge. Only the suspension is in the middle of the bridge (along the median). There is NO support on the outside of the bridge or underneath. I am not scared of heights, and I got a little nervous as we drove over this bridge!

LL Bean's 90th Anniversary boot

Yay!

Daddy and Pam with the boot

Me with the boot. Josh was on his phone and refused to pose for the picture. What a party pooper!

When we got back to Bar Harbor, it was time for a Lobster Pound, compliments of TN Farm Bureau. I've got my bib on and ready to eat! "Time to get crackin!"

My plate...it was SOOOO good! I forgot to take a picture of the blueberry pie, though.

We took a little stroll around the hotel grounds after dinner...the pool overlooks Frenchman's bay....so pretty! This picture does not do it justice. (The pool was heated in case you're wondering, although I never actually went swimming in it)

Josh made me stand out on the very corner of a pier for this picture...I was a nervous wreck! I just knew I was falling into the freezing water or he would drop my camera.

Daddy and Pam

Josh has this fascination where he wants me to take pics of him where it looks like he's peeing. I promise he's really not.

There was a mile long walking trail along the coast behind the hotel. It was so nice and peaceful!

Later we drove up to Cadillac Mountain to watch the sunset. For your random trivia today, Cadillac mountain is the very first place where the sun rises in the US every morning. Unfortunately that happens around 4:30am, and we are not morning people so we never saw it happen. We did drive up to see a few sunsets though...that's a little more up our alley. This is a view of Bar Harbor from Cadillac Mountain.

Josh looking out over Bar Harbor

All over Acadia National Park was this pink granite. It was really pretty.

The clouds rolled in just before the sun actually set...boo!

Me taking in the scenery

This is a closer picture of Bar Harbor

Pretty!

And that's it for Day 2! Day 3 to come tomorrow...
