That dern catch...

This has been my conversation with one patient over the last few weeks...the same one about 30 times every day...

As she stands up to walk, "Dern, I got a catch in my hip this morning!"

Me: You fell and broke your hip

Her: Recently?

Me: About 2 weeks ago.

Her: Oh.

...and about 20 feet down the hall...

Her: I don't know what's wrong, but I can't get rid of this dern catch in my leg!

Me: You fell and broke your hip

Her: Recently?!

Me: About 2 weeks ago.

Her: Really?!

Me: Yeah, that's a true story

Her: Oh.

...and as she rubs her leg when she sits down in her wheelchair...

Her: I've got to find a way to get rid of this catch in my leg!

Me: Well, you fell and broke your hip. When it's all healed up it will feel better.

Her: Recently?!

Me: Yes, about 2 weeks ago.

Her: Oh, well, I guess that explains it

hahahaha! After the first few exchanges, it just gets funnier every time. She usually ends up getting mad at me before we're finished with therapy because I can't quit laughing when she asks me that every 3 minutes. :)

I had a patient who used to ask us litterally every three or four minutes what day it was. Drove us crazy!
