Dear President Obama,

I did not vote for you on election day, and quite honestly I'm not a big fan. However, I will support you as the 44th President of the United States, and I commit to pray for you in your new post. I pray that you will remember the words of Benjamin Franklin as you take over as our Commander in Chief:

If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?

I pray that you will return our country to the principles it was founded on. I pray you will seek God's will in every single decision you make. I pray that God will bless this term in office and that you will give Him the credit for those blessings. I pray for your wife and children and cannot begin to imagine the personal sacrifice they are making as you accept your post. You will have the power of prayer on your side whether you choose to receive it or not. Godspeed Mr. President.

"He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a
companion of fools suffers harm."
Proverbs 13:20

Hey... I jumped over here from Jesse/Leslie's blog (and I think we have more mutual friends from K-town.) This is the best post I have read all day. Thanks for reminding us that we do need to be prayerful for him even if we didn't vote for him. God is in control and we have to be faithful to Him.

What a mature statement! I agree whole-heartedly. I told Laine yesterday that he is our president and he needs all of our prayers. We pray he leads our country in the direction God would have it go!

I'm proud of your eloquent words!
