So, our wireless router died last week. Seeing as how I transmit my work stuff via wireless and Josh uses mostly his laptop, that was borderline disastrous. :) So Friday night we went to eat dinner at Moe's and then did some price comparison at Target, Best Buy, Office Depot, and Circuit City (who should have killer deals because they're going out of business, right?). Best Buy came in at $79.99. Target at $74.99. Office Depot at $99.99 (yes, for the EXACT same product).
At Circuit City, there were no prices marked, but a HUGE sign saying they were 20% off. Good, looks like we might just get the best deal. So, we ask a sales associate to scan the item. $79.99 he says. The obvious question from me--is that the sale price or the original price? Original price. To clarify, "We get 20% off of $79.99?" I just wanted to be perfectly clear. "Yes." So we head to the check out line. So when we FINALLY get to the front of line, the girl scans it and says "$87 (something)." So, I correct her telling her the information that they guy in the back told us.
"I don't know what he told you, but that's not right. $79.99 is the sale price."
"Seriously? Are you sure, because Target has it cheaper than that."
Rolling her eyes "Yeah, that's the price."
"In that case you can just keep it." (Okay, probably not what Jesus would have said, but cut me a little slack...I get really unhappy when I'm lied to.)
Her response to this was to say "FINE!" and chuck the box into the floor behind her counter. We stood there staring at her for what felt like a minute, and was probably more like 5 seconds. Then we walked out of the store.
Can you say, RUDE! I understand she was busy, but seriously! I will not being going back to Circuit City. I would caution that if you want to buy something there, price check it first! Their "sale prices" are often times higher than what you would find several other places at regular price. Going out of business my foot. I say good riddance.

I never buy in store (except as in your case when an emergency arises). All the "big name" stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, HH Gregg, etc are ridiculous because you're paying for the brick and mortar and the jokers walking around the place. Liquidations are also a joke. Read this article...

ok but please don't go to best buy because their return policy is the worst in the world. i tried to exchange something there for an upgrade, and they wouldn't even do that. good luck, tim b.
