Working for free

For the first time in a while Josh and I both have Memorial Day off. I would love to say that we'll lay out by the pool all day, but the fact is that we've been working like crazy all weekend! I saw a blog post several weeks ago about "Where I Live Friday," so I thought I'd do a spin on that and show you where we live...in it's true form. We're in the middle of a remodel, and I've decreed that no one be allowed in our home except workers until it's done! (I'll also make an exception for any of our college roommates...I mean, once you've lived through a dorm with someone, there are no more secrets, right?)

Anyhoo, here are some random shots from our work this weekend...

The basement with our "stuff collection" (as my father-in-law lovingly refers to it) in the middle of the room so we can paint. (To be fair, part of our "stuff collection" from upstairs has been moved downstairs so we can put down new floors upstairs...so it's WAY more stuff than normal down there)

I may or may not have spilled paint on the carpet upstairs when I was priming the paneling. Good thing we're putting down new floors!


This is what happens when all of your earthly belongings, in every room, are in the very middle of the room so you can paint, and you get up to walk to the kitchen to get a drink of water at 4:30 am without turning the light on. The picture really doesn't do it justice.


Well, folks, there ya have it. The chaos that is our home right now. I just keep telling myself, this too shall pass! I can't wait for the finished product...it better be worth it!
