The house (so far)

Well, the family has been asking, so here are a few pics of the house (so far). Keep in mind there are still a few things to be addressed (you know, like the kitchen backsplash, fixing the lamp that Linus broke when we were painting...poor guy, he got tripped up in the cord, and it just about scared him to death when he pulled the lamp off the table...and those hideous light fixtures), but as long as I can get things back in order, I can live with all that for a few weeks until it gets done.

The living/dining room (notice the broken lamp :)

The kitchen...I know the appliances don't match. But they're perfectly good for now. We'll get around to replacing them in a few years. What do you think? Black or stainless? That's glue on the backsplash where the old plastic board used to be. We'll cover that with backerboard and tile over it (as soon as I can convince Josh to pay for the tile that I want :) These light fixtures are the ones that we definitely want to replace, too!

My tools for hanging pictures. I took the liberty of hanging things on the wall AWAY from Josh about 3 months after we got married. He doesn't measure or use the level, he just keeps banging holes until it looks right. Me? I'm a perfectionist. I always use the laser level and measure twice before I try to hang anything. :) So, these are MY tools for all intents and purposes (except for the Mtn Dew...that, of course, is Josh's)

As you can see, we didn't waste any time folding laundry on the new couch. As soon as we fix the guest bed (ahem, you who broke it know who you are, ahem), we can go back to folding laundry in there. ;) You can sort of see the wall decorations in this picture. You can also see my big red planner. FYI, if something is not written down in the planner, it does NOT get done. This planner keeps my life organized. You can make fun if you want to, my big red planner still makes me happy. :)

My attempt at being artistic. Did it work? :) Really, I was just playing with the settings on my NEW camera! I've been taking an insane amount of pictures recently to try and figure out exactly how to use it. I love it!

We're getting carpet sometime in the next 2 weeks, and the new stair rail is coming this coming week sometime. Then the task will be to put everything back where it belongs, and get our lives back in order! I am more excited than I can even tell you. I can finally see the light at the end of the remodel tunnel, and my attitude has much improved because of that! ;)
